The Neurosurgery Department at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban was officially established on 16 May 2016, marking a significant milestone in expanding specialised surgical care within Negeri Sembilan. As the regional neurosurgical referral centre, the department provides comprehensive diagnostic, operative, and critical care services for patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions.

Clinical Services
The department runs a broad range of services, including:

Weekly Neurosurgical Outpatient Clinic for follow-up, elective consultations, and chronic neurosurgical conditions.

Monthly Visiting Clinic at Hospital Kuala Pilah, extending specialist access to peripheral districts.

24/7 Emergency Neurosurgical Coverage for acute cases such as traumatic brain injury, intracranial haemorrhages, spinal trauma, hydrocephalus, and other neurosurgical emergencies.

Elective Neurosurgical Procedures, including cranial, spine, and peripheral nerve surgeries.

Neurosurgical Support for ICU and High Dependency Care, including post-operative management and neurocritical care.

Inpatient Services
Neurosurgical inpatients are managed in a dedicated combined surgical ward, supported by multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, trauma, general surgery, rehabilitation, radiology, and anaesthesiology. This integrated model ensures seamless coordination for trauma, spine, and complex neuro-oncology patients.
