Paediatric Surgery services at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban (HTJS) provide specialised surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents across Negeri Sembilan and its surrounding regions. As the state-level referral centre for paediatric surgical conditions, the service plays a vital role in managing both elective and emergency cases involving the paediatric population.

Scope of Services
Paediatric surgical care at HTJS encompasses a wide range of conditions, including:

Neonatal surgery: congenital anomalies such as intestinal atresia, anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease, pyloric stenosis, congenital hernias, and other neonatal emergencies

Paediatric abdominal surgery: appendicitis, intussusception, bowel obstruction, hepatobiliary disorders

Paediatric urology: undescended testes, hypospadias, obstructive uropathy, vesicoureteral reflux

Thoracic paediatric surgery: empyema, congenital cystic lesions, diaphragmatic conditions

Trauma surgery for children, working closely with the Emergency Department and Trauma Surgery Unit

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS), where applicable, for selected paediatric conditions\

Scheduled Paediatric Surgery Clinics for elective consultations, follow-ups, and long-term care of congenital and acquired conditions

Elective Operating Lists, coordinated with anaesthesia and peri-operative teams experienced in paediatric care

24/7 On-Call Coverage for paediatric surgical emergencies, including neonatal emergencies, trauma cases, and acute abdominal conditions

Inpatient management located in dedicated paediatric wards, supported by paediatricians and specialised nursing staff to ensure holistic care
